Publisher: Hebron University
The current study applies a descriptive analytical approach; it presents the issue of Almarfoo9at (roughly subject case elements) and other related syntactical topics, in accordance with how they were explicated in major reference books of syntax. The study shows the semantic implications of those topics in poetic structures. The study comprises an introduction, fours chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction explains the purpose of the study, its significance, and a survey of the relevant literature. It also describes the methodology applied by the researcher and the chapters that the current study comprises. The first chapter tackles Almarfoo9at as elements in nominal predicational sentences. It explains the different realizations of both the subject and the predicate, and their features as exemplified by structures in the Diwan (the subject of the current study). The chapter also illustrates the features of the subject of the semi-verb (ka:na), as well as the so-called "sisters" of ka:na. Furthermore it illustrates the features of the predicate of the emphatic particle (Inna), as well as the so-called "sisters" of Inna, and also the cases where the predicate of Inna can be deleted. In addition, the chapter explains the subject of (ka:da) and its "sisters", the subjects of (laysa)-like particles, and finally the predicate of the generic negator (la annafiyaliljins). The second chapter tacklesalmarfoo9at in verbal predicational sentences. It explains the present tense verb (almuDari9), as exemplified in the structures of the Diwan. Further is explains the different realizations of the this tense, its fronting and its backward relocation. Finally the subjects the subject-"proxy" (Na'ib al-fa9il) is explained. The third chapter deals with the subject-governed "satellites", as exemplified in the structures of the Diwan. Thus adjectives and their purposes are discussed, as well as their multiple co-occurrence, and the semantic implications thereof. The chapter also discusses emphasis, coordination, and substitution, explaining their types and their semantic implications. The fourth chapter explains various grammatical "agents" (9am'l) and their grammatical "affectees" (ma9mool). Thus the chapter expounds the each of: name of doer (ism alfa9il), name of doer-like adjectives (aSSifahalmushabbaha), name of verb recipient (Ism almaf9ool), comparative nouns, verbal nouns (ism alfi9l), expressions of praise and discontent (almad7 waathamm), and finally exaggeration expressions. The chapter illustrates how they behave in structures, their different realizations and their semantic implications. Finally, the conclusion presents the findings of the current study.
